Thirteen scientists missing- all connected to NASA, CalTech, Los Alamos, and other well known space research programs- coincidence? Most believe not. These disappearances are not the only strange instances, one by one, each formerly missing scientist has been found dead under unlikely circumstances. According to CNN, the following have disappeared and/or been found dead:
Michael David Hicks, a NASA scientist working in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, found dead under unknown circumstances.
Frank Maiwald, a NASA scientist working in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, was pronounced dead with no cause revealed.
Monica Reza, a NASA scientist working in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, missing.
William Neil McCasland, a retired air force major general who was briefly associated with UFO matters, disappeared from his home and left all his belongings behind.
Melissa Casias, from the Los Alamos National Laboratory, a nuclear research facility, disappeared with only a factory reset phone left behind.
Anthony Chavez, from the Los Alamos National Laboratory, a nuclear research facility, vanished from his home.
Nuno F.G. Loureiro, a physicist and fusion scientist that led MIT’s Plasma Science and Fusion center, fatally shot in a drive-by at his home in Boston.
Charles Grillmair, a CalTech astrophysicist, shot outside his home.
Matthew James Sullivan, a former US Air Force intelligence officer, found dead by a “suspicious suicide,” right before he could testify in a federal court about UFO’s.
Amy Eskridge, co-founder of the Institute for Exotic Science, was found dead ruled by suicide. According to NewsNation, Eskridge reportedly sent a message to a friend prior to her death stating, “If you see any report that I killed myself, I most definitely did not. If you see any report that I overdosed myself, I most definitely did not. If you see any report that I killed anyone else, I most definitely did not,” Eskridge said, rooting from concern following this pattern of disappearances.
“I think it’s definitely not suicide. I think someone killed her and staged her suicide. Maybe the government, or someone of a higher power,” junior Daniel Galvis said.
On the other hand, Eskridge’s family claims that she had been struggling with mental health issues, and that her death was not an unexpected event.
“That’s tricky because maybe there was something going on with her and she did do that, but at the same time that is very suspicious, so I think it could not be a suicide,” junior Azalea Kim said.
This mysterious chain of disappearances and deaths has left the public with many questions. Nearly all the scientists were linked to space or physics research of some kind. The FBI is currently investigating this cause, however, some wonder is it the government doing this themselves?
“I think that’s pretty good evidence to suggest that there could be some other involvement,” junior Michael Fuhrman said in response to hearing about the suspicious details regarding Sullivan and Eskridge’s disappearances. “I feel like it could be a huge cover-up story. Maybe they found something they weren’t meant to, maybe it could be aliens, we don’t know.”

While the FBI works on this case, conspiracy theories are spreading rapidly on social media and online discourse.
“That does make sense. I’m a little bit of a conspiracy theorist, and I also think that the government is hiding a lot about space and stuff. If they know something about aliens, then that’s a little messed up if they’re hiding it from the public. Especially if they’re killing people for that,” Kim said.
As more and more scientists are being found, people are beginning to worry more about this situation. What innocent person is next?
“I think it’s really tragic. I think it’s preventing humanity from continuing their progress, because all these people who are making real progression are suddenly disappearing. Now things aren’t moving forward, they’re moving backwards,” Galvis said.
