It only takes one role to change the lives of young actors, and for Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, “Heated Rivalry” was that big break. The internet sensation was released in late November 2025, and blew up almost immediately. The low-budget, Canadian series picked up fame more quickly than anyone expected and is now in the process of producing a second season set to be released April 2027.
The show brought real, genuine emotion to the industry and created a plotline surrounded by authentic and sensitive themes.
“I loved it. Like after I finished the first episode, I couldn’t stop watching. After I watched the show, I got so many Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams edits and videos on my social media,” junior Harlow Kochnover said.
Not only was the amazing acting noticed by many fans, but the chemistry between the two characters has also become a factor of the growing popularity of the show.
“It felt like I wasn’t watching a show. The feelings seemed so genuine and the two worked so well together. Even off screen you can tell they are really good friends and the chemistry is not just for show,” junior Lila McElroy said.
Many fans believe that “Heated Rivalry” was a great way for the two to enter their acting careers as the show targeted many different audiences and created something more than just a show about hockey.

“It opened new doors for athletes to express themselves and relate to something. I remember seeing a trend that was people saying how important a show like this could’ve been to them when they were struggling with expressing their sexuality and still fitting into the sports world,” Kochnover said.
While the skills of the actors have definitely been recognized, Connor Storrie’s modeling career has taken shape. Earlier this year, he was announced to be a Global Brand Ambassador for YSL according to British Vogue.
“I saw both actors walk the carpet at the Met Gala, Storrie obviously in YSL. It was so cool to see the two quickly rise to fame and attend their first major red carpet event,” freshman Sydney Dickstein said.
Storrie’s big break into the fashion world not only allowed people to see a variety of his talents, but he also landed a multi-million dollar deal.
“I had no idea what Global Brand Ambassador really meant, but I know it was a huge deal and definitely gave him a role he deserved,” Kochnover said.
Storrie left a lasting impression on many producers and casting agents not only for his personality, but his dedication to showing the world all his talents.
“‘What stood out most for me was his nuanced physicality and his wonderful intensity. We were able to chat for a bit and I remember picking up on how he seemed super committed to the craft, which seems like a no-brainer but isn’t always evident with younger, ‘newer’ actors. I liked him right away,” American film-maker Todd Phillips said in GQ Magazine
Williams will continue his acting career, and although any new episodes of “Heated Rivalry” will not be released until early 2027, fans are eager to see more of these two on their screens.
“I had to be convinced to watch the show, but I’m so glad I was. It’s so much more than just gay hockey players. You can tell the actors were dedicated to their roles and creating a space to bring complicated relationships into the film industry,” junior Shelly Koblenz said.
