Beach days, no school, camp, and ice cream. There is so much to look forward to this summer. Concerts are another exciting thing that students at NVD are eagerly awaiting this summer. Many big names are coming to the tri-state area including Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Meghan Maroney, Noah Kahan, Rufus de Sol, and many more. Students can’t wait to leave their papers and pens behind and trade them in for clear bags and chic outfits, ready for the concert season ahead.
Concerts are a great way to listen to a favorite artist, while also having fun with friends and family. Junior Madelyn Lotito loves to go to concerts, especially in the summer.
“They’re just a fun experience, especially to go with your friends. It’s a great night out,” Lotito said.
Similarly, senior Alexa Brillhart appreciates the overall vibe of a good concert.
“I think it’s all about the experience, the environment, and the atmosphere. Everyone comes together as a community,” Brillhart said.
There is nothing like an outdoor concert in the warm summer heat. Students at NVD can’t wait to see their favorite artists perform in the upcoming months.

“I’m most excited to see Megan Moroney this summer. I’ve already bought the tickets and I’m really looking forward to it,” Lotito said.
Megan Moroney will be performing with the Cloud 9 Tour at the Barclays Center and at the Prudential Center in early July. While these are both indoor locations, the summer vibe will be evident in attendees’ clothing and overall happiness.
“Summer concerts are better because you can wear a cute outfit without being cold,” freshman Elsa Ismaili said.
Another pro of summer concerts is that with there being no school, some super-fans are able to travel far distances in order to see a favorite artist.
“I’m going with my family to Belgium to see Bad Bunny this summer. We are going to travel once we get there but we booked the plane tickets for the purpose of going to the concert,” Brillhart said.
Passionate fans are willing to sacrifice a lot in order to see their favorite artist, whether it’s traveling across the globe or spending a hefty amount on tickets.
Freshman Sarina Premani said, “concerts are 100% worth the money. You get a lifetime experience and get to make memories that will stick with you, longer than any amount of money will.”
Speaking of ticket prices, there are different ways for fans to purchase tickets, whether it’s via Ticketmaster during artist presale or from resellers on sites like Gametime and SeatGeek closer to the date of the concert. It’s really up to student preference on which format fans choose to purchase tickets.
“I usually buy tickets during presale but if it’s an artist that I’m not a crazy fan of but still want to see in concert then I’ll buy tickets from a resell site, so I don’t need to plan so far in advance,” Ismaili said.
On the other hand, Lotito refuses to spend money on tickets unless they are on presale.
“Concerts are so fun but also expensive. I try to buy tickets on presale so they’re cheaper and so I also have something to look forward to!” Lotito said.
No matter the method of purchasing tickets, concerts are a guaranteed fun time, especially during the summer months where excitement is heightened thanks to nice weather and extended free time.
“I love dressing up for concerts and then getting to have the best night listening to my favorite artist with my best friends, especially during the summer!” junior Reese Schulman said.
