The cafeteria team is on a new and exciting path of making the NVD menus something special for everyone. The cafeteria has always included new ideas such as culture week where they would make something from a different country every day of the week. They have worked so hard to deliver some excitement to the high school lunchroom.

“ I think that it’s great. I appreciate the effort to try to add to the variety in the selection for us students,” senior Juel Reyes said.

On top of the change in the quality of the food, they have added more of everything a student might want. They have breakfast, sandwiches, snacks, and even options for vegetarians. Students can now have more diverse and appealing options to choose from. This makes it easier for everyone at NVD to find something they enjoy.

“ I think that adding the new food options gives kids more variety in what they choose to eat. In terms of variety, I think it changed for the better considering last year we didn’t have things like boba and açaí bowls,” junior Katie Arefiev said.

The feedback on the new foods has been tremendous. Students at NVD have reported liking the food, quality, and the way the cafeteria respects dietary needs. The changes have been clearly heard and have made lunch a better experience for everyone.

“I believe the new food options cater well to dietary needs because they have added gluten-free desserts and vegetarian lunch options, so it’s perfect for everyone,” Reyes said.

From the new acai bowls to even boba, many students have tried the new foods and it seems like everyone has favorites.

“I like the pesto mozzarella tomato sandwich because it has a lot of flavors and I like a good sandwich,” Reyes said.

Overall the cafeteria has brought so much change to lunch and the students are grateful. The continuous effort that the cafeteria has put in to make the students feel better at lunch has not gone unnoticed. The experience at lunch has changed for the better and students have the cafeteria staff to thank for that.

“I think that it’s made the dining experience much better because I can see that they’re trying to add new things,” Arefiev said.
