With Starbucks’ new spring menu now released, students at NVD have had many mixed reactions to the new drinks and food items. While some were excited to try something new, others are very disappointed by the new flavors and lack of variety.
Junior Jamie Shu explained that the menu didn’t offer enough variety for people with different tastes.
“When I looked at the new menu, I was very disappointed because I don’t like chai, ube, or lavender flavors,” Shu said.
Similarly, junior Ari Steiner shared the same disappointment in the array of drinks.
“I was very excited for the new flavors so when they were released, it was very anticlimactic,” Steiner said.
Sophomore Vera Lee had a more positive reaction to the new menu.
“I liked trying some of the new things on the menu,” Lee said.
Instead of the ube and lavender flavors, some students said they wished there was more variety.
“I wish there were more refresher options to choose from,” Steiner said.
On the other hand, students were impressed with the new food selection.
“I tried some of the new food like cake pops and it was surprisingly very good compared to the drinks,” Shu said.

Specifically, the frog cake pop was popular among students.
“Even though the frog cake pop is just vanilla flavored, I thought the decoration was very cute and fitting for spring,” Steiner said.
Lee, who gets Starbucks often, had a more positive reaction to the new menu.
“I think some of the changes are good, I’m really excited to try the cookies cinnamon roll.”
Overall the new spring menu seems to be a hit for food but a miss for drinks among NVD students.
“I’d say it’s worth trying at least once especially if you need a break from the usual, and it’s definitely a small thing that gives me something to look forward to this spring,” Shu said.
