“A lot of shorts at the mall are either too thin, too short or have disproportionate fits, but the mid-seam white 501s I have are my favorite to wear…I’m definitely gonna buy more for the summer,” NVD junior Kyra Sasmaz said.
The Levis 501s are timeless shorts that feature a more relaxed fit with an unfinished hem at the ends. They are considered rigid denim, meaning they are 100% cotton and have little stretch, giving them durability and a high-quality feel. “My favorite has always been American Eagle. Their shorts fit me perfectly and are so comfortable, even though they are jeans…they’re also good quality and pretty cheap as they always have deals going on,” NVD’s Katie Ariefiev said.
American Eagle covers all types of denim shorts, including baggy, relaxed, mom, short, curvy, midi, long, and bermuda shorts, all of which fall within the $30-$40 price range.
However, sometimes, when it’s time to relax or just throw on a casual outfit, lounge shorts are the way to go. So, when needing a loose-fitted, comfortable pair of shorts, look no further than Brandy Melville’s collection of cute, trendy shorts.
“Brandy Melville summer low-waisted thermal shorts are my favorite because they come in a variety of colors and are comfy and easy to wear…they’re all so cheap and are the perfect length,” NVD junior Liliana Diez said.
As Brandy Melville’s popularity is on a steady rise, their clothes are becoming more and more common in the halls. They also make sure to cater their clothing to high school girls’ need for stylish basics and relaxed wear, giving an effortless vibe. Some of Brandy Melivlle’s most popular looks include floral and heart-printed sweat shorts, boxer shorts, and summer thermal shorts.
Of course, as the weather gets warmer, it sets the perfect scene for going out and getting active. Although on the pricier side, at $66-$88, Lululemon offers a wide range of colors, lengths, and styles. Some of the most popular include their Hotty Hot shorts, Speed Up shorts, and Align spandex shorts.
“Lululemon shorts are perfect and always good quality for the summer…They don’t ride up like many other shorts, and I can wear them for both school and practice afterward, so the price is worth it, ” NVD junior Kiera Bianchi said.
The versatile style of Lululemon shorts allows high schoolers to wear them for both school and athletics, making it easy to attend their after-school sports quickly.
“I’m so ready for summer…I love wearing shorts, and I can’t wait to buy new ones for the year,” NVD junior Liliana Diez said.
