St. Patrick’s Day is approaching, and with that comes lots of traditions and fun activities. There are many things to do around Bergen County and New York City around St. Patrick’s Day that some people may not know about.
Every year, Pearl River hosts a Saint Patrick’s Day parade that takes place in their main downtown area. Hundreds of people gather in the park, street, and local restaurants or bars to celebrate the holiday.
This parade is open to the public and for all ages, making it a fun and ideal spot to go. This year, it is going to be held on Sunday, March 23.
Many people around here go every year, like senior Kailey Attali.
“The parade is always so fun and such a great Saint Paddy’s tradition. So many kids from all over Bergen County come, so it’s a great way to meet and see people and also hang out with your friends,” Attali said.
Along with the Pearl River parade, there are many other parades around, like the Bergen County Saint Patrick’s Day parade and the New York City parade.
“I knew about the NYC parade but have never gone. I didn’t know that Pearl River had one, but now I kind of want to go. Parades are definitely a great thing to do for Saint Paddy’s because it’s outside, and it’s always fun when you can be around lots of people,” sophomore Deana Finklestein said.
Even if parades are not your thing, there are still so many fun things to do for the holiday. There are also many websites and places to look for ideas on how to celebrate.
The Bergen County moms have a website called Bergen Mom’s Network, and they have posted a list of fun things to do for Saint Patrick’s Day. Some activities include arts and crafts, cookie decorating, and the St. Patrick’s Day Run in Fair Lawn.
There are so many options when it comes to spending your Saint Patrick’s Day doing something fun.
