Demarest hosted their first pep rally since 2019 this past Friday on September 9th and students were thrilled. Fall sports athletes gathered in the North Gym to take pictures while underclassmen were covered in face paint and repping their team jerseys. After some of the athletes entered the gym, the band performed and the cheerleaders demonstrated their routines. Students in the South Gym cheered on the athletes as they ran in and gave encouraging, short speeches. Gianna Galli, senior captain of the girls volleyball team, said “It was exciting because it signaled that school traditions are making a comeback after COVID-19 changed everything.”
