The annual club fair at NVD gave students the chance to explore or continue their interests and sign up for clubs that match their passions. This year’s fair was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as new clubs emerge and existing clubs continue to grow.
Before the fair took place, many students shared their excitement about discovering new opportunities.
“I am interested in joining the EMS club because I am interested in nursing and I feel like this club will build a good foundation. I also want to join Hand-in-Hand because I want to be a pediatric nurse so I want to learn how all different kids behave,” junior Zula Branecky said.
Many juniors and seniors continue to participate in their current clubs, where many feel too overwhelmed to join any new ones.
“Since its junior year, I’ve already joined a bunch of clubs over the past two years so I will look around but I am most likely not going to join a new club,” junior Emma Wagner said.
Many underclassmen were not sure they would be actively participating with clubs either, but ended up changing their mind and choosing to get involved.
“I wasn’t originally going to join many clubs but after I got explanations from the clubs, I realized that I was interested in them. I am very excited to pursue the Hand-in-Hand club and contribute to your community,” freshman Blair Gardner said.
Other students took the next step which was starting their own clubs where they opened up a new realm to NVD students.
“I started a new club because I care about the cause of Alzheimer’s because me and my friend Rachel’s family were both affected by the disease and spreading awareness is important,” junior Ben Aronson said.

After signing up, many students reflected on their choices, mentioning they discovered clubs that they never knew existed and ended up finding interesting clubs.
“One of the clubs that definitely caught my eye was the EMS club, they were so welcoming and encouraging by talking about the great benefits,” sophomore Kayla Lee said.
The club not only gave students the opportunity to get involved, but also highlighted the variety of opportunities available at NVD. Whether they were looking for leadership, friendship, or just something fun to try, there was something for everyone.
“During this year’s club I was most excited as a first year officer to get to experience real leadership,” sophomore Mateo Sugarman said.
