As the 2025 school year comes to an end, the seniors are getting ready to say their goodbyes. Before graduation, there are still many important events to come, including spirit week, the senior fashion show, prom, and much more. Seniors are preparing for an epic last couple of weeks of school before going on Work-Based Learning, during the weeks of April 28 to May 2.
A senior at NVD, Kailey Attali, is looking forward to all of these upcoming events.
“What I am most excited for is all of the senior events coming up such as Spirit Week, Senior fashion show, and WBL! Nothing is better than an early ending to school to volunteer. I decided to work at my middle school, which was fun to go back and see all my teachers,” Attali said.
Work-Based Learning is a tradition NVD seniors have been doing for years. It gives students the opportunity to start volunteering at a local business/school starting May 19. It is exciting to start a “work-like experience” before graduating.
Senior Andrew Zwernemann is also participating in WBL and has similar views as Attali.
“I am excited to have an early end to school and start working. I am working with my dad at his company and am excited to be taught valuable things through the process,” Zwernemann said.
As well as WBL, there is the senior fashion show, which took place on May 4. Seniors had various fittings at local stores to promote businesses. There were several themes such as “night out on the town,” “prom theme,” “college theme,” “athleisure,” and more.
“The fashion show was a nerve-wrecking thing to me at first, but I was so glad I did it. I had so much fun and it really brought together the senior class to do a fun event and make the audience happy,” Attali said.
Seniors recently also just had spirit week, a tradition NVD has been doing for years and years now. In addition, May 1 is a special day worldwide, commitment day, where seniors wear their college merch.
“Spirit week was definitely fun, to dress up for a new theme each day, and commitment day, everyone participated since it was something everyone could do. I wore Army West Point to show off my future school,” Zwernemann said.
“I loved spirit week, dressing up, taking photos, and commitment day was my favorite. I wore Maryland to show the spirit for my future school,” Attali said.
Seniors are in the time of their best last moments and events in all of high school. This is the most exciting time for the 2025 class to celebrate how amazing the past four years have been. Although it’s not over yet, seniors are cherishing every last moment they have as high school students, because it won’t last forever.
