On Thursday, November 21, William Paris and his Japanese class hosted two zookeepers from the Bergen County Zoo. The purpose of their visit was to discuss the new ways the zoo is involving NVD’s Japanese students in creating animal exhibit descriptions for non-English-speaking/reading visitors.
The Bergen County Zoo wants to enable more visitors to be able to enjoy their time and read the descriptions who are not familiar with English but still want to learn about all of the different types of animals.
The Japanese classes brainstormed with them and asked questions about how they want to utilize Japanese and other languages. They also brought a special guest with them: a blue tongued skink!
